MAJORS

SYMPHONIC ENSEMBLES
(STRINGS & WINDS)

This major offers great opportunity for students to play in large ensembles. They have positive influence on young people who learn how to work as a team and listen to each other. The Band and Orchestra program is designed to challenge students whatever their level of proficiency may be. Our conducting staff selects the repertoire from various symphonic pieces of different styles, periods and composers. This major consists of daily intensive rehearsals, sectionals and technique classes. Winds and strings work on their separate programs as well as the repertoire of the large symphony orchestra.

However, the minimum recommended experience with the music instrument is 2 - 3 years for wind players and 3 – 4 for string players.
Our 7-day session is also open for our alumni participants over the age of 18.

I learned new techniques for breathing that help me improve the quality of my sound. The songs challenged me a little instead of being extremely easy. I got to practice speaking Czech. I made a lot of new friends.
Andrea, USA, 11 yrs., clarinet/symphonic band, 5.8.2016

During my stay at the camp I learned many things. I learned how to read at first sight, this has been very important for me during rehearsals when  I played a piece for the first time. I also got better at keeping the rhythm and playing at higher speeds than what I was used to. But the most important of all, I played for the first time in an orchestra which has been amazing and by doing this I discovered a whole new side of music, that's very different and much more entertaining than playing always by yourself.
Giovanni, Italy, 15 yrs., violin - string/symphony orchestra, 25.7.2014

At this camp I gained experience in playing clarinet, conversation in English language and found a lot of new fiends. FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC.
P.S. Also, I understand, that the most important thing in every band – playing in one tone and together.
Max, Russia, 15 yrs. clarinet /symphonic band, 24.7.2015
